City of Orlando Mayor Delivers State of Downtown Address

Larimer & Co. attended Mayor Buddy Dyer’s State of Downtown address at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts – currently underway on the construction of the $227.5 million, 1,700-seat Steinmetz Hall which is scheduled to open in 2020. Highlights of his address included transportation infrastructure in the works — including the just completed $186.9 million, 17.2-mile SunRail commuter train southern expansion into Osceola County. In addition, UCF Downtown will open in 383 days in the $1 billion Creative Village mixed-use development. The shared campus for the University of Central Florida and Valencia College will welcome 8,000 staff and students when it opens in 2019, and will anchor Creative Village, which also will include academic space, shops, restaurants, office space, student housing, apartments, mixed-income housing and more.
